If using both HDMI are connected to external monitors, can you extend the screen to a A/B/C configuration? Or, does this just duplicate displays?
A shopper
on Mar 22, 2024
BEST ANSWER: Yes. You can use this product to extend your displays up to 3 additional screens using the 2 HDMI and 1 display port connections. You can also use this to duplicate the displays as well. If you are running Windows, you may need to go into display settings and change the Multiple displays option from Duplicate to Extend. I think my computer might have defaulted the screens to duplicate, so it was just a matter of updating the settings to extend my display. Make sure the computer you are using this dock with supports additional screens through USB-C. Not all devices support this functionality. Hope this helps!

On a Macbook, ou can only extend to laptop + 1 external display. So if you plug 3 external monitors(2 HDMI + 1 DisplayPort), you just the same content on the 3 external monitors.

The dock is bus powered - powered by the computer/device it is plugged into.
The dock does have pass-through power capability - if your computer/device uses USB-C charging, you could plug the USB-C charger into the designated port (looks like a little power plug next to the USB-C port on the dock) and it would power the computer/device as well.

It has a 100W Power Delivery (PD) passthrough, so you can plug your existing USB-C power cord to the dock (not included in this product). Your laptop will then charge if you plug this in to the laptop's USB-C port, with only the one cord needed to go from this dock to your laptop.

Do you have a usb c hub that supports mac's with different displays? It seems pretty useless to have 3 external monitors that all show the same thing (For MacOS, only supports SST Mirror & SST Extend modes (all 3 external monitors have the same display)). Displaylink is one technology that allows a mac or windows pc connected to display different content.

Model 44116 appears to have a 10 Gbps USB C port, but this one does not have any USB C ports to connect an external device. True? I know I can connect a USB C to USB A cable/adapter to an external device, but will I get only 5 Gbps speed? Looks like an oversight to what could be a great device

Is this hub supposed to support full resolution for monitors connected via HDMI with Mac OSX? I was using this with Windows, but switched to a Macbook recently and my external monitor resolution options only go up to 1600. On my Windows machines I can use 1920x1080 no problem. Is this expected behavior or is there a fix?

Does DP MST work on this dock? Can I use 2 or 3 monitors through DP without using any of the HDMI ports?
A shopper
on May 8, 2026
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. These products support DisplayPort MST on Windows, allowing multiple monitors to be connected through DP. However, the dock is designed for triple display output (two HDMI plus one DP). If you rely solely on the DP port, you’ll be limited to a single external monitor at 4K@60Hz. While MST is technically supported, the dock’s hardware is optimized to distribute multi‑monitor setups across HDMI and DP together, rather than DP alone.

It was just as advertised. We were not at all surprised.
The only disappointment was that it took a day or two longer to arrive than advertised. That made it miss Mother;s Day! ????
The device itself works great and, happily, has more ports and greater variety of ports than we will ever need.
Interestingly, some devices loaded *more complete photo files* thru this device than they had done on the previous USB bus.

I've tried other brands prior to this that would get really hot when plugged in. This stays cool to the touch. Highly recommended.

Works great!
I bought this for a home setup and it works better than I expected. No trouble driving 2 24" monitors. The only thing that make it better for me is if it had another full-function USB-C port.

Very pleased with the Monoprice 13-in-1 Dual-HDMI + DP MST Dock
I am very pleased with the Monoprice 13-in-1 Dual-HDMI + DP MST Dock. While my Dell laptop complained about the Dock when I tried to power the laptop, I simply plugged the Dock directly into my laptop. I am fully aware of Dell device drivers complaining about non-Dell devices being connected. Next... I have three monitors connected to the Dock and each monitor functions perfectly; audio is connected as well as my Ethernet. Everything simply works... except the power port...maybe...
